Don’t Fall Off The Face Of The Earth!

Sep 30

I despise having to do this on the blog but I just have to address it for us to move on.

I’m convinced that the general public enjoy my work. I’m pleased to know, the blood, sweat and tears that go into my photography is somewhat appreciated.

I’m continually contacted by engaged couples, either the man or the woman. I try to respond within 24 hours and usually much earlier. Upon responding they seem to fall off the face of the earth.

I’ve realised that the reason that they “Fall of the face of the earth” is that my prices are higher than the general public. The reason for my prices being the way they are can be read here and here.

The local wedding industry is pretty much cookie cutter where pricing and execution is concerned and they only promote bargain photography. Therefore I’m very often contacted with a hypothesis and when the couple realize I’m not cookie cutter they fall off the face of the earth. I’ll be open and honest like I always am. This is ANNOYING.

Just respond and say ”Mr Morris, I would like to have you but you’re not in our budget”  I would certainly appreciate it or I can probably customize a package for you. I do this 9 out of 10 weddings or if I’m way above your budget I understand. I love a Bentley but can’t afford it. So I stay and admire it from a distance.

Blessings,

Bryan Morris

Can you find true love through a dating service?  “Yes!” say Kristi Kimberley and Bill Gedfrey who met in March of 2007.  The couple met for dinner after being matched by the dating service It’s Just Lunch.  Bill planned the couples’ first vacation to Aruba in June of 2007.  “We could not believe how beautifull the island was…the water, the beaches, the people.  We did not think twice when we decided to get married to have it take place in Aruba.”

Event planner, Kaleigh Wesson of Fort Worth, Texas, made all the wedding arrangements for the sunset ceremony held on the beach at the Radisson Aruba Resort and Casino on September 13, 2008.  Bryan Morris photographed the couple all over the beautiful grounds of the Radisson Aruba Resort and Kaleigh custom made all the florals.  After the wedding, Bill and Kristi had a candle light dinner on the beach under a full moon.  “Our wedding was amazing…I could not have dreamed it any more perfect” says Kristi and Bill in unison.

The couple have four children; Megan 19, Katelin 17, Preston 14, and Grayson 8.  On October 25th, with family and friends to help celebrate, Bill and Kristi will host a dinner reception at their home in Colleyville, Texas.

Yours Truly

As a photographer it’s very seldom that you’re infront of the lens and it’s an awkward position to be in as well, at least for me. I’ve however been hoping to get a few shots of myself for my profile.

It was a pleasure to meet Andre Walker from Andre Walker Weddings two weeks ago that we were at the Caribbean Palm Village. It took me a few days before I’ve built the courage to go and talk to these two guys that I’ve been seeing walking around the premises with professional equipment.

Upon conversating with them and learning that they shoot mainly weddings in the NY Metropolitan area be not undisclosed to the rest of the world I asked Andre if he could squeeze some time from his busy schedule to shoot me some head shots, of which he did.

It did take me some time to ask him as I was not really thinking about it then. So time was limited and we had a few minutes on the saturday morning before he left to the airport. I wish we had more time but I did get a few nice ones.

Thanks Andre. For your time and professionalism.

Below you would see them. Please let me know which you like best for me to use as a profile pic?

A few weeks ago I’ve showcased Seasen & DJ in a trash the dress session on the blog. Shayenne assisted me with this shoot as is pretty common in most cases. If you haven’t seen it click on the link above.

On our way home from this shoot Shayenne says; “I want to do a trash the dress session as well and today” As tired as I was and beaten by the sun I’ve obliged. And this was the result of it.

Shayenne just didn’t want to be left behind ,so she hopped on the bandwagon and now she’s officially trendy.

Some time soon in the near future I’ll post a slideshow of the remaining images. There are so many great shots but I have choose just 10 for this post so I randomly chose as I have so many favorites.

Wacky Wahoo, Aruba’s little secret…….

Sep 25

………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………Total silence. Attempting to formulate a sentence to describe this experience.

You would expect food this good from a 5 star restaurant. Well this is a little restaurant right in Palm Beach. It’s actually in walking distance from the high rise hotels, nothing supersedes a good walk after a meal like this.

This restaurant is as top class local as it gets. It ranks right up there with any big 5 star restaurant. I know my descrition does not do this place justice. Just go! Care to know about the price, I’ll just say it’s nice!

This is the Aruban Ceviche.

Sitting here preparing this post I seriously feel like going to get one of these to take out I might just do it.

Crispy Tiger Shrimp! My date had this and according to her it was great.

This is a portrait of my date.

Grilled Catch Of The Day Special for Moi. Look at the size of that fish.

Ishaq looks all sophisticated in his waterpolo gear in the pool on the day of Shaydee’s pool party. I just had to get a shot of him.

Doesn’t he look cute?

Shaydee Celebrated Her Birthday

Sep 22

It was exactly 1 week after her birthday that it was celebrated in a grand way as she had requested. She wanted a Hawaiian pool party, which she got around the pool of the Caribbean Palm Village.

Many friends but mostly family joined in on the fun in the pool.

This is the party table decorated by the “interior” decorator Shayenne.

This is a close up on the Flip Flop Cake.

This is how you feel when you get out of the pool after being there for the entire day. Shaydee feeling cold.

I took this image at a local hotel. The trick to not have the bars in your picture is to put the lens right up to the bars. Enjoy.
