Ishaq looks all sophisticated in his waterpolo gear in the pool on the day of Shaydee’s pool party. I just had to get a shot of him.
Doesn’t he look cute?

It was exactly 1 week after her birthday that it was celebrated in a grand way as she had requested. She wanted a Hawaiian pool party, which she got around the pool of the Caribbean Palm Village.
Many friends but mostly family joined in on the fun in the pool.
This is the party table decorated by the “interior” decorator Shayenne.
This is a close up on the Flip Flop Cake.
This is how you feel when you get out of the pool after being there for the entire day. Shaydee feeling cold.

Today is Shaydee’s 8th Birthday.
It is a custom here that on the kids birthday they get their own cake. As soon as the birthday boy or girl rise, which is ussually before the sun, we all gather and sing happy birthday around the cake. The birthday boy or girl would then do the honors in biting off a piece of the cake.
Here is Shaydee taking part in tradition.
May God richly bless, keep and protect you and many happy returns.
She would not have a birthday party today but it was postponed for a week as Shayenne would then have a couple days at home and then we can prepare something in the right way for her.
Blessings,

I’ve had the absolute pleasure of shooting family portraits of Jacki Dion and her family.
I’ve got to our appointed location and found them all there. Upon arrival I knew they were the family that I’ve had to photograph. We’ve never met before, we’ve only communicated by email so they were curiously looking in my direction wondering if I’m the photographer. The great give away was when I took my camera bag out of the car, then the expression of relief on their countenance was obvious. No more frowned eyebrows. They’ve been wondering for a while already, Is it him or not?
I’ve walked up to them and introduced myself to everyone in the party individually and we started with the shoot. These guys were the best, they were so easy going and up to anything. I’ve really had a blast with them and the two little ones are so adorable.
Here you have one complete family portrait.
Here you have Jacki, her husband, Rich (Tell it like it is, he’s indeed rich to have such a great family). Their daughter Brianna and Sons, Lil Mike and Jason.
This is Jacki’s parents, Linda & Ken.
These are my future clients whenever Big Mike decides to pop the question. (Mike, what are you waiting on) I just know that they have to get married in Aruba and I’m hoping to be the photographer.
Another family portrait………
Brianna and her two little brothers, Lil Mike and Jason.
I just love this image. They were not asked to pose like this. I was taking another shot and turned around and found them like two lovebirds in this position. All I did was asked them to stay there and I shot it. That’s was so natural. Don’t they make a beautiful couple?
Three generations: Grammy Linda, Momma Jacki and Brianna
Another traditional family shot.
This shot caused tears to flow as this was a recreation of another shot…..It was awesome to experience.

I tip my hat to the veterans that can boastfully exclaim that they’re married for a great number of years as this is a thing of the past.
This younger generation just stay married for as long as it all runs smooth like a well oiled train, neglecting the fact that the oil that cause the train to run smooth depletes and if not serviced regularly causes friction to the point of a breakdown. Disregarding the fact if parts (bad habits) are replaced and and oil is replenished the old locomotive will continue to run like new, they just decide to disregard the promise they made at the altar and end the marriage.
I always tell my couples (read clients) that giving up on your marriage is the easisest thing to do, it however means that you did not combat with the situation long enough to overcome it and come out victorious but you just allowed the situation to twist your arm behind your back and you gave up.
Today i want to give honor where honor is due…….
On August 4th Chris and Rich celebrated their 35 th Wedding Anniversary and I was requested to pass by their hotel to take a few pictures of their family. It was a great time had with such a awesome family. I’ve had the chance to meet 4 generations of the family which was pretty cool to me.
Chris and Rich, God bless you and many more years to come.
Here is Chris and Rich posing for their portraits.
This is their daughter, Melissa with her family. (Colin and precious Emma)
Now this is Chris’s mom and dad, what a sense of humour the dad has. We don’t even want to know how long they’re married as it would make the younger quitting generation feel really bad that they didn’t stick it out.
Here you have Brian and Alyson, friends that celebrated their 2nd Wedding Anniversary on August 5th. Brian and Alyson stay close to these great people, they can offer some advise or two in getting to the 35 year mark.
Here you have Melissa and her family again with her brother Adam.
Adam enjoying the island’s past time.

I have quite a few great images of Naeem’s class. I’ve repositioned myself and eliminated the battle with the other parents around with cameras to get a shot.
The show was a reenactment on a remix of 4 local kids songs.
A portrait of the fire fighter Naeem.
This little guy is such a showman. He was the MC of the entire show for his class, thus Naeem’s class. Way before the event while all was getting on stage he got up probably first and started to pace the stage like the MC that he is. Here are a few shots of him.
These are the ants just getting on stage.
Here is an ants on the attack with a candy.
This is another happy ant. I shake his hand everyday as I get to the school to pick up Naeem. Every fiber of his being exudes adventure in a big way. The teacher certainly earned her wages with him. Cute kid nevertheless.
This is one of the cars making an entry to the city.
Here is the sailor asking the girl in the city to marry him.
The cars moving through the city streets.
The construction team coming on site to build a house.
Construction crew at work.
This is the little fires that came to destroy the house because the MC was playing with matches.
Mikaila having fun on stage.
This little fire really put her heart in her performance, I really enjoyed her.
Firefighters approaching the scene in their firetruck of course.
Firefighters doing what they do best…….Fight fire!
Fires coming under submission to the fire fighters.
After they’ve extinguished the fire they’ve decided that things got hot so they were cooling off the crowd.

Arco Iris Kleuter School celebrated 55 years of existence this year. They’ve organized a show to simultaneously celebrate the school’s existence and raise funds to complete the restoration of the playground. They’ve used recycling as a theme of the show. Props were constructed from recycled material.
Shannon Bueno opened the show singing Aruba’s anthem.
This is Ishaq on his way to the stage, notice his vest mad of pop/ beer covers
Kiki ripping up the stage.
OK here, Ishaq disengaged from the show and enjoying the take off of the helium filled balloons they let go.
This is Chloe, another of Ishaq’s classmates.
Ishaq, as soon as he came off the stage.

There are great schools here on the island of Aruba, but there are some that succeeds way above the other and Arco Iris Klueter School is definitely one of them. Ishaq and Naeem goes to this kindergarten.
On Friday evening they’ve had the 55 anniversary of the school and ofcourse I was there to cover this. You’ll see more of this later on in the week.
Here is one of Shayenne and Naeem giving the crazy eye. I really like how this looked.

I’m often asked by brides if I could convert a few images in B&W and I always respond positively. There are however so many looks to B& W.
Last week shooting a few portraits of my wife in some crazy lighting I’ve decided that these would be great to transform to B&W to portray a few of the different ways I could go.
After dinner we walked out on the hotel strip. With camera still in hand I decided to shoot a couple portraits of Shayenne. The light was even crazier than in the restaurant. I’ve then decided that these would be great to transform to B&W to portray a few different possibilities with B&W.
I just like to push myself to be creative and come up with something cool. This is the way you learn. You have to practice in real life scenarios so when you get yourself in a situation like this you would know how to handle it. As a photographer you should be able to do the job under any circumstance, providing you have the right tools.
I just love shooting with available light, I use flash whenever it’s a real must or I want a different look.
Here are a couple of shots that were created under crazy light and transformed to B&W, different shades of black & white. Enjoy.

I came outside with the camera in hand and they wanted me to make a portrait of them, so here it is.
